PRIVACY POLICY
Private financial planning
means private.
Last updated: August 30, 2026
The short version
BaselineLab does not collect your financial data. Your accounts, balances, transaction history, rules, events, and settings live on your devices. If you use iCloud, Apple syncs that data privately between your Mac and iPad through your own iCloud account. BaselineLab operates no server that receives or stores it.
What the app does not collect
BaselineLab does not collect, sell, or share personal information, financial records, or usage data. The app contains:
- No BaselineLab account or sign-in system
- No analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking
- No developer-operated service that receives your financial database
- No advertising SDKs
Where your financial data lives
BaselineLab stores its database on your device. This includes account details, imported transactions, recurring series, transfer and card-payment rules, future events, forecast settings, and other preferences.
The app works locally even when iCloud is unavailable or you are not signed in.
iCloud sync
When you are signed in to iCloud, BaselineLab syncs its private database between your own Mac and iPad through Apple’s iCloud service. Apple handles that storage and transfer under Apple’s Privacy Policy. BaselineLab does not operate the sync servers and cannot view the data in your private iCloud account.
If you do not use iCloud, the app remains local-only on that device.
Statement imports
QFX, OFX, QBO, and CSV statement files are opened on your device. BaselineLab previews and imports them locally; it does not upload those files or their contents to us.
Bank connections and credentials
BaselineLab never asks for your bank login and does not connect to banks through a third-party aggregator. You choose and import the statement files your financial institutions already provide.
Backups and exports
BaselineLab creates automatic local backups and lets you export a complete backup to a folder you choose. Those files remain under your control. If you copy them to an external drive or cloud-storage service, that destination’s privacy practices apply; BaselineLab does not receive a copy.
Deleting data
The app includes controls to undo individual imports and delete imported data. Automatic backups and manual exports are separate copies under your control and must be removed separately if you no longer want them. Data held in iCloud is managed through your Apple account and Apple’s device and iCloud controls.
App Store
When BaselineLab for Mac and iPad becomes available through the App Store, Apple will process the purchase and related account activity under Apple’s policies. BaselineLab does not receive your bank statements or in-app financial database as part of an App Store purchase.
This website
This is a static website hosted by GitHub Pages. It includes no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, cookies, or third-party font requests. BaselineLab has built nothing that records your visit. GitHub, as the hosting provider, handles web requests under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
Children
BaselineLab is a personal finance application and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If a future version changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
